Replacement Hot Water Cylinders

Combination boilers while popular are not the answer to all home hot water systems. Hot water cylinders come in two main types, unvented and vented.

Vented Hot Water cylinders require a cold water storage tank that stores and delivers cold water to the cylinder. Water delivered to the taps is generally gravity fed and therefore low pressure. 

Unvented Hot Water Cylinders are supplied by mains pressure water and deliver mains pressure hot water to the taps. With vented and unvented cylinders can be heated by a gas boiler or by an immersion heater. They are generally best installed in larger property homes where large amounts of hot water or 2/3 showers are required to operate at the same time. 

There are many different manufacturers of hot water cylinders including Vaillant, Megaflo, Gledhill, RM cylinders.

The cylinders for the domestic market range from 90 to 300 litres.
